Princeton University Department of Athletics strives for excellence in academics and athletics, embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. The role of the Assistant Coach is to provide a quality varsity program that challenges and develops the physical, mental, and personal abilities of student-athletes in a Division I program. This position is temporary.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of coaching a nationally competitive Division I track program, including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and student-athlete development.
- Successfully develop and coach athletes in jumps and multi events.
- Operate within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and men’s track and field program.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
- Uphold the commitment to the Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.
- Travel with the team to away competitions and help coordinate team travel.
- Develop and execute a recruiting plan.
- Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes in all track and field events on a national and international level.
- Travel to meet with prospective student-athletes.
- Assist with the management of recruiting database of potential recruits.
- Assist/coordinate social media platforms.
- Assist with alumni events and development of Friends Group.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Adhere to Princeton University, Ivy League, and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent coaching experience.
- Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- First Aid, AED, and CPR certification within four months of hire.
- Proficient with MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
Pay
$22.00 minimum hourly rate.
Schedule
- Nights and weekends required.
- Eligible for overtime.
