Assistant Coach, Men's Track & Field - Temporary

Princeton University Department of Athletics strives for excellence in academics and athletics, embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. The role of the Assistant Coach is to provide a quality varsity program that challenges and develops the physical, mental, and personal abilities of student-athletes in a Division I program. This position is temporary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of coaching a nationally competitive Division I track program, including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and student-athlete development.
• Successfully develop and coach athletes in jumps and multi events.
• Operate within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and men’s track and field program.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
• Uphold the commitment to the Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.
• Travel with the team to away competitions and help coordinate team travel.
• Develop and execute a recruiting plan.
• Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes in all track and field events on a national and international level.
• Travel to meet with prospective student-athletes.
• Assist with the management of recruiting database of potential recruits.
• Assist/coordinate social media platforms.
• Assist with alumni events and development of Friends Group.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Adhere to Princeton University, Ivy League, and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent coaching experience.
• Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• First Aid, AED, and CPR certification within four months of hire.
• Proficient with MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Pay

$22.00 minimum hourly rate.

Schedule

• Nights and weekends required.
• Eligible for overtime.
