About the role

Assignment Type: Seasonal. Stipend Schedule: 2026-2027 High School Coaches Salary Schedule – placement based on years of coaching experience.

All coaching positions are posted as open until filled. Any applicants that apply within 5 days of initial posting are guaranteed consideration per the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• Valid background check (district and WIAA requirements).
• Age: head coaching positions ≥21 years; assistant coaching positions ≥19 years.
• Valid first aid and CPR card.
• Annually complete: WIAA general rules clinic, WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached, and KSD Vector Training requirements prior to the beginning of the sports season.
• Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training (required by Washington State Law, renewed every three years).
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (required by Washington State Law, renewed every three years).
• Before the beginning of the third year of coaching, complete a school district‑approved Coaching Principles training, or NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School, or other WIAA‑ or district‑approved Coaches School; thereafter repeat this training every three years.
• If hired, read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
• Building athletic directors monitor the applicant pool and contact applicants as necessary.
