Pay

$3,395 - $4,185 stipend for Assistant Coach (Season 1). Placement based on years of coaching experience per the Middle School Coaches Salary Schedule.

Assignment Type: Season 1 (September–November, Summer).

Employee Benefits | Kent School District. All coaching positions are posted as open until filled. Any applicants that apply within 5 days of initial posting are guaranteed consideration per the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• Must meet district and WIAA requirements including a valid background check.
• Head coaching positions: minimum age 21 years.
• Assistant coaching positions: minimum age 19 years and must hold a valid first aid and CPR card.
• Must have completed Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training (required by Washington State Law, renewed every 3 years).
• Must have completed Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (required by Washington State Law, renewed every 3 years).
• Before the beginning of the third year of coaching, must complete a school district‑approved Coaching Principles training, or the NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or attend all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School (or other approved Coaches School); after initial completion, this training must be repeated every three years.
• Building athletic directors will monitor the applicant pool for open positions and contact applicants as necessary.
• If hired, the paid coach must read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
