About the role
The Assistant City Engineer is responsible for supporting the City Engineer in managing the city’s infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations, and providing technical guidance to other departments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of city infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the compliance of construction projects with local and state regulations.
- Provide technical support and advice to other city departments on infrastructure matters.
- Conduct inspections and evaluations of city infrastructure to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to city infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in municipal engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of city infrastructure systems and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management software.
- Knowledge of city planning and zoning regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with infrastructure maintenance and repair.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
