Assistant City Engineer

About the role

This is a full-time position within the City of Elkhart's Public Works Department.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain city infrastructure including roads, bridges, and utilities.
• Respond to emergency calls and perform maintenance work as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 2 years of related experience.
• First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Knowledge of city infrastructure systems.
• Experience with construction equipment.
• Problem-solving skills.

Pay

Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually.

Schedule
