Assistant Choir Director and Accompanist

About the role

The Jefferson City High School is seeking an Assistant Choir Director and Accompanist to support and lead a vibrant choral program. The position involves working closely with the Head Choir Director to manage three choirs: Chorale, Bella Voce, and Concert Choir. Additional responsibilities may include teaching or assisting with other fine arts classes.

Responsibilities

• Daily piano accompaniment for rehearsals and performances
• Assisting with rehearsals, sectional instruction, and student musicianship development
• Teaching or assisting with other fine arts duties as assigned
• Assisting with music selection, assessment of students, and administrative duties
• Promoting the department to the community

Requirements

• Proper state certification or equivalent experience and qualifications in choral accompanying/piano performance
• Strong collaborative piano skills
• Experience accompanying choral ensembles
• Ability to assist in choral rehearsal techniques and vocal pedagogy

Pay
