About the role

Responsibilities
- Works in the Classroom:
- Collaborates with parents, teachers, administration, and other employees.
- Attends and participates in all meetings.
- Develops, implements, and approves daily curriculum.
- Fosters a nurturing atmosphere.
- Assures smooth classroom operations, including transitions, routines, nap time, health and safety procedures.
- Completes progress reports for each child.
- Makes regular parent-teacher conferences.
- Evaluates each child's needs and sets appropriate goals.
- Completes daily journals for each child.
- Maintains a safe, stable, and loving environment.
- Ensures the classroom is clean and materials are stocked.
- Observes children for developmental, emotional, or behavioral needs.
- Communicates with and collaborates with teachers and administration.
- Implements innovative ideas into the classrooms.
- Completes referrals when needed.
- Aids staff in the referral process.
- Supervises volunteers, interns, and specialists in the classroom.
- Supports the Director:
- Manages the center's operations in the Director's absence.
- Hires, onboards, develops, and supervises staff.
- Ensures a safe and nurturing environment for all children and staff.
- Monitors the facility's safety and cleanliness.
- Conducts monthly staff meetings and in-service training.
- Addresses parent concerns and communicates regularly with teachers.
- Develops a program improvement plan based on feedback.
- Responds promptly to emergencies and incidents.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree, pursuing Director I certification.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a supervisory role or as a lead teacher.
- Other Qualifications: High standard of personal integrity, excellent management, organizational, and communication skills, ability to multi-task, ServSafe Certified.
