About the role

The Assistant CDC Director with the Air Force Civilian Service supports the Child Development Center Director in supervising the day-to-day operations of a Child Development Center. This includes providing specialized childcare and instruction for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, developing and implementing child development programs, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first-level supervisor
  • Assist the Child Development Center Director in managing the Child Development Center
  • Provide specialized childcare and instruction for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years
  • Develop and implement child development programs
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Organize educational and developmental programs
  • Manage administrative tasks

Requirements

  • A degree in early childhood or child development
  • Professional knowledge of child development theory, methodology, and practices
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations governing child care
  • Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles
  • Knowledge of USDA food program requirements
  • Ability to educate, counsel, and advise child care providers and parents
  • Ability to conduct regular and periodic audits, studies, and inspections
