Assistant Chief Engineer- Shore Lodge
Summary
The Assistant Chief Engineer maintains the hotel and club in accordance with the maintenance schedule by assigning and supervising staff.
Ensures that equipment is operated effectively, efficiently and safely by directing and supervising the operation of all running equipment.
Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing employees with the training and resources they need to maximize engagement and deliver service and teamwork.
Tests and examines the life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational at all times.
Aids in the administration of the department.
Helps correlate and examine bids and services with outside contractors and vendors.
Standard Specifications
In addition to performing the essential functions, the Assistant Chief must be compliant with Standard Operating Procedures, Mission Values and Vision as well as all building/ fire/ health department codes. Maintain the building complexes as energy efficient as possible, constantly looking for ways to save energy.
What You Get to Do
- Schedules work week coverage for engineering staff.
- Covers coordination and prioritization of work orders and preventative maintenance programs.
- Checks and monitors the completed work to ensure it meets/exceeds brand standards.
- Creates preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment throughout hotel and club properties.
- Supervises and participates in maintenance work.
- Maintains routine reports by recording daily meter/refrigeration/gas readings and interpreting daily log sheets.
- Keeps Chief Engineer informed of anything that could indicate malfunctions.
- Detects when equipment needs repair, or when it is not economically justifiable to repair, by closely monitoring repair history of all major equipment.
- Communicates and reinforces the vision for service to employees.
- Ensures that employees provide genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis.
- Provides employees with the tools, training and environment they need to deliver service and teamwork.
- Tests and examines the life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational at all times.
- Aids in the administration of the department.
- Reviews purchase requests and monitors expenses to budget to ensure goals are met/exceeded.
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Helps correlate and examine bids and services with outside contractors and vendors.
- Ensures and helps implement energy saving programs to overall properties and equipment.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Proven supervisory experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in respected field
- Hands-on approach to work and training employees
- Strong understanding of all electrical, HVAC, pool, plumbing, controls, and mechanical equipment
- PREFERRED: Schooling or certificates in a technical/vocational trade
- PREFERRED: Pool and Spa Operator Certification (CPO)
