Assistant Chief Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to support the daily operations of our Engineering and Maintenance Department. This role will work closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain resort facilities, support engineering staff, oversee maintenance operations, and help ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Support daily Engineering and Maintenance operations across the resort
• Aid with preventive maintenance programs and property inspections
• Perform and oversee repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, ADA, and company safety standards
• Coordinate work performed by outside contractors and vendors
• Maintain engineering shop inventory, supplies, and organization
• Aid with emergency response procedures and participate in on-call coverage
• Deliver outstanding guest service while maintaining professionalism and teamwork

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hospitality engineering or maintenance leadership experience preferred
• Resort or timeshare experience highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance systems
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call shifts
• Able to lift and move equipment/materials as needed
