Assistant Chief Engineer

Marquette Management Inc. is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer in Chicago, IL to help provide residents with a clean, well-maintained living environment.

About the role

This union position supports the maintenance department with general repairs, vacant apartment preparation, snow and trash removal, emergency repairs, landscaping, ordering supplies, record keeping, and accepting deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs to apartments and common areas
• Prepare vacant apartments for new tenants
• Remove snow and trash
• Handle emergency repairs
• Maintain landscaping and grounds
• Order maintenance equipment and supplies
• Keep accurate records
• Accept deliveries
• Move appliances and perform other job-related duties

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment or hotel industry
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, appliances, and apartment turns
• HVAC or EPA Universal Certification (a plus)
• Availability for on-call duties and flexibility to work weekends when necessary
• Excellent customer service skills and general computer knowledge

Starting wage: $29.93 per hour
