Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of breeder operations.
- Lead team to ensure proper methods & techniques for optimal health and performance of breeder flocks.
- Aid in training and leading the team in proper on-farm management techniques.
- Maintain and adjust breeder flock records as necessary.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Aid in recruiting new growers; maintain and improve breeder housing.
- Review weekly settlement data and investigate grower complaints as needed.
- Oversee pullet chick placement scheduling and AI monitoring.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Poultry Science or other closely related field.
- 5+ years breeder management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of breeder bird health.
- Exceptional communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel to assigned farms.
- Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Daily walking in an outdoor environment, including inclement weather.
- Constant exposure to dusty and hot environments.
- Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts.
