About the role

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) plays a crucial role in the management of a branch team. They assist the Branch Manager in achieving sales goals, supervising staff, serving customers, processing loan applications, managing exceptions, ensuring security, and promoting a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Branch Manager in leading the branch towards meeting sales targets through outbound calling, sales meetings, and coaching.
  • Supervises staff members, making decisions on employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary, transfers, and terminations.
  • Serves customers quickly, accurately, and confidentially, adhering to South State Bank's Gold Service Standards.
  • Opens new deposit accounts, processes loan applications, and manages exceptions within the branch.
  • Manages security procedures and ensures compliance with banking regulations.
  • Develops a sales culture and maintains a strong understanding of customer-facing technology.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Customer Service/Sales/Branch Manager.
  • Previous supervisory experience and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance with banking laws.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Training and certification in consumer lending and regulatory compliance.
