About the role
The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) plays a crucial role in the management of a branch, supporting the Branch Manager in achieving sales goals, supervising staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Branch Manager in leading the branch towards achieving sales goals through outbound calling, sales meetings, and coaching.
- Supervises designated staff members, making decisions on employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary, transfers, and termination.
- Serves customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the South State Bank Gold Service Standards.
- Opens new deposit accounts, processes loan applications, and manages loan and deposit exceptions.
- Maintains branch security procedures and ensures an adequate supply of money for daily transactions.
- Develops a sales culture environment and maintains a strong understanding of customer-facing technology.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Customer Service/Sales/Branch Manager.
- Organizational skills, previous supervisory experience, strong PC skills, and previous banking experience.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, planning and organizational skills, good decision-making skills, excellent writing skills, training and oral presentation skills, customer service orientation, initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Completion of the SouthState Way New Team Member Orientation, Branch Manager Workshop, Consumer Lending, obtaining SSB Lender Credentials, Banker Foundations, and all assigned Regulatory Compliance training.

- Most likely in an open lobby area with an individual workstation or individual desk or could be in a private office.
- Located inside a cooled and heated facility with ability to go to a break room or rest room during breaks.
- Travel may be required to come to meetings and training as needed.
