About the role

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is a key member of a branch team responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in managing the branch. Key responsibilities include maximizing sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, minimizing operational losses, and supporting administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Branch Manager in achieving sales goals through outbound calling, sales meetings, and coaching
• Supervises staff and makes personnel decisions
• Serves customers according to South State Bank's Gold Service Standards
• Processes loan applications and paperwork within lending authority
• Manages loan and deposit exceptions
• Ensures branch security and operates security devices
• Provides leadership and exemplifies good customer relations
• Resolves customer problems and complaints
• Keeps an adequate supply of money and inventory of supplies
• Maintains a sales culture and understands customer-facing technology

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Customer Service/Sales/Branch Manager
• Organizational skills and supervisory experience
• Strong PC skills and previous banking experience
• Knowledge of banking regulations, including Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of financial services offered by the bank

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Obtained SSB Lender Credentials
• Completed SouthState Way New Team Member Orientation and Branch Manager Workshop
• Passed all assigned regulatory compliance training

Physical Demands

• Willingness to travel for meetings and classes
• Able to stand and/or sit for long periods
• Able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports

• Open lobby area or private office
• Cooled and heated facility with access to break rooms and restrooms
