About the Role
The Branch Assistant Manager works with the Branch Manager to organize, plan, and implement strategies in a Sherwin-Williams Automotive Branch. This includes supporting all aspects of branch operations—customer service, sales, marketing, merchandising, inventory, finances, and store safety—while assisting in supervising and training store staff.
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, based on business needs and subject to change. Duties involve contact with customers (including minors), handling cash and payments, accessing electronic equipment and personal information, and managing store merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing the branch market plan based on market conditions, branch mission, and financial/budget objectives
- Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
- Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
- Verify customer orders and transactions are completed and documented accurately
- Maintain branch inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
- Respond to and resolve customer and/or employee complaints
- Assist in determining staffing needs and develop work schedules
- Analyze management and financial reports, including financial ratios relative to Profit & Loss (P&L)
- Assist with daily bank deposits
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
- At least one (1) year of work experience in retail, sales, or customer service or completion of a Sherwin-Williams Development Program
Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of work experience in customer service, retail, or sales
- At least one (1) year of work experience in a Sherwin-Williams Automotive Branch
- At least one (1) year of work experience in the automotive aftermarket industry
- At least one (1) year of experience in a leadership role, supervising others, or leading teams
- At least one (1) year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and/or Outlook)
- Work experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Sales, or Marketing
- Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
