Responsibilities

  • Support the talent acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations associates.
  • Manage the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence.
  • Assist the manager in developing strategies to drive branch sales and profitability.
  • Coordinate procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehousing, and sales in accordance with company policies.
  • Resolve problems at the branch level, including customer complaints about damaged items, overcharges, and shipment/delivery delays.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.
  • Serve customers and support counter and inside sales functions.
  • Ensure all sales orders are billed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Schedule staff and analyze budgets and variances.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires operation of a company or personal vehicle consistently more than 20% of the average work week. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be run, and an acceptable MVR is required.

Requirements

  • Generally 5+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction supply, building materials, or industrial distribution environments.
  • Working knowledge of branch operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and warehouse processes.
  • Experience supporting or leading front-line teams (warehouse, counter, or inside sales).
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve customer issues and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP or order management systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Understanding of sales drivers, margins, and branch-level performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and working in OSHA-regulated environments.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) and forklift experience preferred.
