Assistant Branch Manager

About the role
The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in achieving excellence in branch operations, including inventory management, team development, customer value, and overall financial performance and growth.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive environment for branch associates that encourages teamwork in alignment with SiteOne DNA.
- Partner with the Branch Manager to onboard, train, and coach branch associates.
- Train and coach all branch associates in customer value best practices and foster a culture where every team member is obsessed with customer success.
- Promote an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety daily through leading by example.
- Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training, and executing policies.
- Monitor key performance metrics to assess daily, weekly, and monthly progress and track improvement initiatives.
- Work with the Branch Manager to review performance metrics and track progress.
- Partner with leadership and Field Support to understand the impact of emerging technologies and ways of working on business performance, and actively support their implementation.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in retail nursery, irrigation, and/or landscape industry preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of managerial experience, including leadership, issue management, motivation, and team building preferred.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service to all SiteOne customers.
- Resolves complex questions and issues using experience and product knowledge.
- Proactively identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to grow sales with current and potential customers.
- Understanding of sales and operations planning process.
- Knowledge of market preferences, competition, regulations, and trends.
- Higher education degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
- This is a safety-sensitive role requiring candidates to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Starting pay depends on factors such as location and experience and will always meet or exceed applicable state and local minimum wage laws.
