Assistant Branch Manager

About the role

American Welding & Gas Inc. is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Assistant Branch Manager to support the Orlando, FL location. This role directs day-to-day sales, counter sales, warehousing, distribution, and production activities with profit-and-loss responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing the production, safety, and efficiency of the entire store.
• Manage store assets and maintain expense controls.
• Supervise staff to ensure timely, efficient customer service.
• Assist the manager with daily opening and closing duties.
• Maintain knowledge of all branch standard operating procedures and safety policies.
• Organize and implement daily plant activities and strategies alongside the Branch Manager.
• Participate in hiring, orientation, training, supervising, evaluating, motivating, and leading all plant employees.
• Develop and promote a safe culture within the branch; maintain a safe, organized work environment.
• Provide safety training and ensure compliance with company safety guidelines.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations in line with state, federal, DOT, OSHA, and FDA policies.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations to maximize profits with minimal investment while prioritizing safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with hazardous materials preferred.
• Prior management experience a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
