Assistant Baker

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker. We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, community as we are. In the role of Assistant Bread Baker, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team who will offer a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, & seasonal breads all baked with honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to additional details to create one-of-a-kind breads
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs. plus
• Stand, lift, and mix as daily requirements
• Work through change and be flexible while keeping a close eye on what's cooking

Schedule

• Part-time position
• Afternoons/nights availability required
• Shifts start around 11 am – 7 pm
• Sunday shift required (when the store is closed)
• During holiday seasons, schedule may flex into overnight shifts

Qualifications

• Proven track record of kitchen abilities including following recipes and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. plus
• Ability to stand, lift, and mix
• Ability to work through change and be flexible
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Skills

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; willing to train the right person)
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, & federal regulations for food handler & sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus
