Assistant Baker

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker. The ideal candidate should be passionate about food quality, customer service, community, and the bakery's mission.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create unique breads.
• Lift and move large amounts of dough, flour, and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited sitting.
• Work through changes and remain flexible while maintaining focus on the baking process.
• Work afternoons and evenings, including Sundays when the store is closed.
• Be prepared for potential overnight shifts during holiday seasons.

Requirements

• Proven track record of kitchen excellence, including large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required).
• Formal baking/pastry education is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously, with limited sitting.
• Compliance with local, state, and federal food handler and sanitation regulations.

Pay

The pay rate for the Assistant Bread Baker position is $12.50 per hour.

Schedule

Bread Baking shifts start around 11 am - 7 pm, with a Sunday shift when the store is closed. During holiday seasons, the schedule may include overnight shifts.
