Assistant Baker

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker. We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, and community as we are! In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team offering a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads all baked with honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind breads
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work through change and remain flexible while monitoring baking processes

Requirements

• Schedule availability to work afternoons/nights (shifts start around 11 am - 7 pm, plus a shift on Sunday when the store is closed)
• Ability to work overnight shifts during holiday seasons
• Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; willing to train the right person)
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus
