Assistant Athletic Trainer
About the role
Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Athletic Trainer to join their team. Key Responsibilities include administering comprehensive athletic training services to Intercollegiate Athletics teams, providing prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, counseling and education related to athletic injuries and illnesses, ensuring accurate and thorough record keeping and documentation, assisting with other athletic training and administrative duties, adhering to and carrying out established policies and procedures, coordinating and scheduling medical coverage, assisting with pre-participation exams and medical referrals, working collaboratively with team physicians and other allied health care professionals, and working with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of individualized programming.
Responsibilities
- Administer comprehensive athletic training services to Intercollegiate Athletics teams, as assigned, at the University of Washington.
- Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, counseling and education related to athletic injuries and illnesses as needed.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in athletic training or other sports medicine area of study required.
- Must possess NATABOC certification along with current CPR and First Aid/AED certifications.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Washington.
Qualifications
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
- Successful candidates should be proficient in evidence-based medicine, medical documentation, emergency care, sport specific rehabilitation and injury prevention programs.
- Have a demonstrated ability to relate to both men's and women's athletic injuries and health related issues.
- Have a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with other intercollegiate athletic staff, coaches, and the local medical community.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates with 4 years or greater post-professional experience are preferred.
Pay, Benefits & Position Details
Pay Range Minimum: $85,008.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum: $105,000.00 annual
Other Compensation: Taxable benefits include tickets to UW Intercollegiate home competitions. - Non-local candidates may be eligible for a moving allowance.
