Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists in the daily operation of the two Athletic training facilities and will assume the responsibility of the proper medical care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Primary team assignments will include some combination of men’s lacrosse, volleyball, field hockey, women’s basketball, men and women’s tennis, men and women’s track and field, and acro and tumbling. At times during the year, you might be asked to assist with coverage of other sports. Travel with in-season sport assignments is required.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • A bachelor's of Arts or Science in Athletic training.
  • MUST be NATABOC certified and eligible for State of South Carolina licensure.
  • Professional rescuer CPR/AED certification.
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.
  • Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.

Additional Comments

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other constituents on campus. Must understand current athletic training techniques in regard to the recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Experience working with a variety of sports is beneficial. Experience working as a member of a comprehensive sports medicine team is crucial. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
