About the role
The Assistant Athletic Director -- Special Projects and Administration position is responsible for the overall coordination and administration of special projects. This role serves as the leader of activities development, events, and special projects efforts for Eastern Washington University's Department of Athletics.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of special events and projects for the Department of Athletics.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure successful implementation of special projects.
- Develop and manage budgets for special projects.
- Manage event logistics including venue selection, scheduling, and coordination with vendors.
- Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the visibility and impact of special projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Sports Management, Business Administration, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in athletic administration or related field.
- Experience in event management and budgeting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Experience working with student-athletes, coaches, and other university personnel.
- Understanding of marketing and promotion strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
