About the Role
The Department of Nursing is undergoing a process of growth and renewal and seeks new faculty to contribute through teaching, research, and guidance in the special populations area of Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. Faculty will share responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative, supervisory, and other institutional functions.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the classroom and conduct clinical instruction.
- Engage in research and publications to support tenure and promotion.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Contribute to departmental and college-wide activities and committees, including grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
- Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
- Expertise in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
- Didactic teaching experience at the collegiate level (strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
- Expertise in primary care throughout the lifespan.
- Current or eligibility for an unencumbered nursing license in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
- Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department, and university levels (preferred).
