Job Description

The Department of Nursing is seeking Assistant/Associate Professor Special Populations Nursing Faculty positions in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. Candidates will share responsibilities including teaching, research, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Nursing faculty teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching.
  • Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion.
  • Curriculum development; participation in departmental and college-wide activities and committees.
  • Grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
  • Expertise in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
  • Strong preference for candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level.
  • Strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
  • Expertise in primary care throughout the lifespan.
  • Current or eligibility for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
  • Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department, and university levels preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.
