Assistant/Associate Professor - Oral Radiologist, Department of Oral Health Promotion

About the role

The Creighton University School of Dentistry (CUSOD) seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in support of its didactic and clinical radiology sciences curricula, including patient services through the school’s pre-doctoral clinic model.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on curriculum development and educational resource creation
• Present continuing education programs
• Read and interpret internal and external images of radiant energy
• Mentor dental students in scholarly activity
• Ensure regulatory compliance of radiological equipment and maintain radiology/imaging manuals and clinical protocols
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic service committees, and professional societies to maintain expertise

Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree from an ADA/CODA accredited institution or an equivalent degree from an international program
• Certificate of completion in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from an ADA/CODA accredited graduate training program/institution
• Successfully completed Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination or the Integrated National Board Dental Examination prior to date of hire
• An unrestricted Nebraska Dental License or obtain and acquire one in a category for which the candidate is eligible, and also acquire credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment

Qualifications

• Combined DDS or DMD degree and certificate of completion in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology
• Prior full-time or >50% dental academic position with experiential evidence of course assignments in clinical, laboratory, classroom teaching support radiology and imaging sciences curricula
• A statement of teaching philosophy as it applies to dental education
• A formal presentation to faculty body a sample of scholarly activity

Preferred Specialty

Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from an ADA/CODA accredited program/institution
