About the role

This position involves overseeing the entire undergraduate DMD radiology curriculum, which includes didactic lectures, seminars, and clinical radiology teaching, particularly focusing on 3D imaging. The role also entails enhancing digital radiography capture and interpretation across the school by improving infrastructure and workflow. Responsibilities include assisting both the Department of Oral Medicine and the broader University of Pennsylvania community with their radiologic and clinical needs. Additionally, this individual is expected to build relationships with the international oral maxillofacial radiology community and engage in interprofessional activities within the university.

Responsibilities

  • Assume the role of Director of the Division of Radiology
  • Lead the Division of Radiology in education and clinical service
  • Support all departments in the division
  • Assume responsibility for the radiology curriculum, including both didactic and clinical teaching
  • Lead the school in preparing for its next accreditation related to radiology education, training, and regulatory outcomes
  • Potentially lead the development of a fellowship in Oral Radiology, possibly leading to a residency program in the same discipline

Requirements

  • DMD/DDS from USA preferred
  • Two-year CODA certified OMR residency program from US/Canada
  • American Board of OMR Eligible/Certified
  • Five years of experience teaching Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a DMD/DDS from the USA, a two-year CODA certified OMR residency program from the US/Canada, and be eligible/certified by the American Board of OMR. They should also have five years of experience teaching Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

Skills

Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in educational and clinical settings are essential. Proficiency in digital radiography and a commitment to ongoing professional development are also required.
