The Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Diego seeks full- or part-time academic radiology faculty members. The position offers opportunities for contributions to and support of departmental activities, including trainee engagement, scholarly activity, teaching, and University service.

About the role

The Department of Radiology is dedicated to academic excellence and innovation, providing state-of-the-art services for both clinical and translational studies. The appropriate series and appointment (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be determined based on the candidate's background and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and support all departmental activities, including trainee engagement, scholarly activity, teaching, and University service.
  • May require self-funding and adherence to the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which imposes limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting.

Qualifications

  • A MD, DO, or equivalent degree, or a PhD in a health-related field.
  • Candidates with an MD, DO, or equivalent degree must be board certified or board eligible in Radiology.
  • Candidates with an MD, DO, or equivalent degree must also have, or be eligible to obtain, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

  • Basic qualifications (required at time of application): An MD, DO, or equivalent degree, or a PhD in a health-related field.
  • Additional qualifications (if applicable): Board certification or board eligibility in Radiology, and a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit.

Benefits

Salary is negotiated annually and may vary based on the candidate's background and experience. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $93,700 - $435,000. Salary is negotiated annually.
