Assistant /Associate Professor of Food Animal and Livestock Medicine - Veterinary Medicine

About the role

This position involves enhancing the knowledge, growth, and overall development of veterinary students through contributions to courses in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. The primary purpose is to deliver assigned lectures, run small groups, review and contribute to course material, and develop and review exam questions.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for the Food Animal Medicine course to veterinary students and graduate courses in the curriculum.
• Dedication to outstanding service and client communication is highly desired.
• Research & Scholarly Activities: Research areas of emphasis at CVM include One Health, Wildlife & Conservation Medicine, Climate Change, Zoonotic Diseases, and Public Health. Advise and mentor DVM and graduate students and actively engage in independent and collaborative research.
• Participate in the following University Activities: Faculty Senate, Departmental Meetings, Departmental Faculty Evaluations, College/University Committees.

Requirements

• DVM and/or PhD from an accredited institution.
• Board eligible or board certification with specialization in Food Animal and Livestock Medicine desirable.
• Experience and interest in Food Animal and Livestock Medicine research is highly desired.

• May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.

Pay

SALARY: $149,864 - $196,539 per year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials. Specifically, Faculty salary is determined by these factors as well as Faculty Rank which will be determined by the RVU Rank and Promotion committee.
