About the role

The Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, New York, invites applications for a full-time, tenure or clinical track faculty position in Large Animal Medicine. Successful candidates will engage in the College’s educational, research, and service activities.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical and didactic teaching in Large Animal Medicine pre-clinical and clinical courses
  • Supervision of the Production Animal Medicine clinical clerkship, and active participation in ambulatory services offered, and the Veterinary Skills courses offered in semester 1 to 6 of the DVM program.
  • Promote LIU-CVM’s mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through teaching, academic excellence, and service to various stakeholders.
  • Engage in curriculum development, identification or creation of innovative learning resources, and participate in committees such as admissions, curriculum, research, etc.
  • Contribute to the research and scholarly goals of the College of Veterinary Medicine and develop independent or collaborative research in Large Animal Medicine.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must have a DVM or equivalent degree and expertise in Large Animal Medicine.
  • Specialty board certification/eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM- Large Animal or the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners) or equivalent is preferred.
