Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- All faculty responsibilities
- Monitor the TEP application process until the student is ready for the TEP interview.
- Coordinate interviews with advisors and DOE faculty each semester.
- Participate in TEP interviews.
- Document interview outcomes for students' TEP and advisors' files, including a letter of decision.
- Maintain and update the TEP spreadsheet.
- Communicate TEP requirements with students and assist in registering for appropriate tests.
- Verify background checks for every student enrolled in FE I and II and all other clinical experiences.
- Contact LEAs for student teaching placement.
- Revise and update forms.
- Share requirements and expectations with students, supervising instructors, and cooperating systems.
- Collect and report evaluations to spreadsheets.
- Visit student teachers at assigned schools during the student teacher semester.
- Maintain a positive line of communication with all representatives of LEA’s.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold an earned master’s degree from an accredited institution. A doctoral degree is preferred.
- Have a minimum of three years teaching experience and an LOE score of a4 or 5 in the K-12 setting.
- Hold a valid TN teaching license; an administrative endorsement is preferred.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Tennessee's licensure procedures.
- Endorsements in Administration, Reading/Literacy, Special Education, Elementary, and/or Secondary.
- Experience in supervising teachers and/or student teachers.
Physical Requirements
Work requires little or no physical effort. Lifting or performing other work requiring light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) is intermittent (not a routine part of the job).
Environmental Conditions
Work is performed under basically normal working conditions as in a standard office or classroom environment.
