Assistant/Associate Professor of Education
Full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Teaching and Leading, College of Education and Human Development at Augusta University.
About the Role
The selected candidate will carry a 3x3 teaching load, developing and teaching graduate methodology courses and courses in their area of expertise, while also serving on dissertation committees (60% of the position). The role includes a 30% research expectation and 10% service expectation at the department, college, and university levels. The earliest start date is January 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach graduate courses (3x3 load each academic year) on multiple platforms (face-to-face, asynchronous, and synchronous).
- Establish or continue a robust research agenda with aspirations for national or international presence in the field.
- Demonstrate familiarity with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research techniques.
- Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Education or a closely related field.
- Proven track record in online instruction in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments within higher education.
- Evidence of a consistent and impactful line of research.
Qualifications by Rank
Assistant Professor
- Early-career faculty member with a terminal degree in their discipline.
- Evidence of research potential to achieve national/international recognition with further development.
- Beginning evidence of impact in the knowledge-base or practice.
- Characteristics of outstanding teaching.
- Demonstrated understanding of service to the program, department, and college.
Associate Professor
- Mid-career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Evidence of a focused research and/or scholarship agenda representing a significant step toward national/international recognition.
- Evidence of impact in the knowledge-base or practice.
- Evidence of outstanding teaching.
- Evidence of substantial service to their program, department, college, university, and/or the profession.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at the time of hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and internal equity and market data.
Schedule
This is an academic year-based position, typically working August through May, depending on dates outlined in the offer letter and yearly contract. The full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.
