UNLV School of Dental Medicine is seeking applications for two (2) full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Faculty-In-Residence of Clinical Sciences positions in Endodontics.

About the role

The successful candidate will manage the pre-doctoral endodontic curriculum, including pre-clinical and clinical endodontic courses, and supervise and deliver patient care in both general dentistry and specialty clinic environments. The role also includes academic and clinical support for Advanced Education programs in General Practice Residency, Pediatric Dentistry, and Orthodontics. Opportunity for intramural faculty practice or extramural private practice is available.

About the School of Dental Medicine

UNLV School of Dental Medicine is the only accredited dental school in Nevada. Established in 2002, it offers a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and eight academic degree and advanced education certificate programs. The school receives over 1,800 applications annually for 82 pre-doctoral seats, conducts biomedical research, hosts continuing education classes, and serves the community with over 70,000 patient visits per year. The school’s programs are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-doctoral endodontic curriculum, including pre-clinical and clinical courses.
  • Supervise and deliver patient care in general dentistry and specialty clinic settings.
  • Provide academic and clinical support for Advanced Education programs (General Practice Residency, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics).
  • Opportunity for intramural faculty practice or extramural private practice.

Requirements

  • D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Completion of a specialty program in Endodontics from a CODA-approved dental school.
  • Eligibility for licensure in Nevada (requires graduation from a CODA-approved dental school in the U.S. or Canada).
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in a dental teaching environment (preferred).
  • Board certification in Endodontics (highly desirable).

Pay

Salary is competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.
