About the role

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking an academic Assistant/Associate Professor of Ophthalmology for a non-tenure track position. The successful applicant will perform clinical duties in Ophthalmology within the University of Cincinnati Residency clinic 4-5 days a week, participate in the operating room and outpatient clinic, and advise and train fellows, residents, and medical students. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department’s academic mission. Faculty rank and title will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties in Ophthalmology within the University of Cincinnati Residency clinic 4-5 days a week.
• Participate in the operating room and outpatient clinic.
• Advise and train fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department’s academic mission.
• Attend departmental and divisional meetings, including Faculty participation in grand rounds and educational conferences.

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited residency in Ophthalmology.
• Licensure by the Ohio Medical Board is required at the time of appointment.

Qualifications

• Board eligible in Ophthalmology.
