Assistant/Associate Professor – Acute Care Surgery

The Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks an outstanding early to mid-career Acute Care Surgeon to join our thriving practice. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and one of the premier academic medical centers in the United States. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy team of clinicians, educators, and researchers. Furthermore, the Division is recognized for innovative excellence in education.
Responsibilities
- Care of surgical patients on the Trauma/Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care services
- Education of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Independent research
Requirements
- Board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for an unrestricted Illinois Medical License. Candidates should have a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching, and research.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a passion for teaching and research.

Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $350,000 - $470,000. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
