About the role
The School of Business at North Carolina Central University seeks highly qualified applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting in the Department of Accounting. Selected candidate must include an earned Ph.D. in Business with a Major in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution and demonstrated potential for quality teaching and research. ABD candidates from AACSB-accredited universities may be considered at the instructor level. Candidates with teaching interests in accounting systems/data analytics and tax. Candidates with experience using SAP are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses and maybe required to teach graduate courses in Accounting. Prepared to teach face-to-face and online environments and have evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a track record or the potential for producing publications necessary for the School to meet current AACSB International accreditation standards.
- Service to the School, University, profession and community is also expected.
Requirements
- The requirements for this position must include an earned Ph.D. in Business with a Major in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution and demonstrated potential for quality teaching and research. ABD candidates from AACSB-accredited universities may be considered at the instructor level, but the Assistant Professor position requires completing all doctoral requirements by August 1, 2026.
