Assistant/Associate or Professor of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (Tenure Track)
About the role
The University of Southern California (USC) seeks a faculty member with a strong program in auditory and/or vestibular research, focusing on central or peripheral sensory system development and/or regeneration. The ideal candidate will utilize cutting-edge quantitative molecular biology approaches, including single-cell multiomics, proteomics, or gene editing, and can work with various model systems.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in auditory and/or vestibular research
- Collaborate with colleagues in the USC community, including graduate students, post-docs, residents, other research PIs, and clinicians
- Mentor trainees and junior faculty
- Engage in research that supports the Keck School of Medicine's mission in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Requirements
The following qualifications are essential for this position:
- A PhD or MD degree
- A strong track record of impactful research as evidenced by publication and funding history
- A commitment to research and teaching
- Experience working with a variety of model systems, including organoids and non-mammalian animal models
- Ability to interact productively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and interests
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- A demonstrated commitment to research and teaching
- An ability to mentor trainees and junior faculty
- Experience collaborating with other USC faculty, including those in the Broad CIRM Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000-$221,539.
Schedule
The position is full-time and requires 8 hours per day.
