Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Music (Viola)
Tenure-track position in the Department of Strings at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University Bloomington.
About the Role
The Jacobs School of Music seeks a viola professor at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank. The successful candidate will have an extensive and successful background as a performer and teacher at the highest national and/or international level, will collaborate effectively with faculty colleagues, and will inspire students in a professionally-oriented educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach viola students in all degree and diploma programs, including freshmen through doctoral levels.
- Participate in departmental meetings, recruitment activities, and auditions.
- Serve on doctoral committees and recital hearing committees.
- Engage in faculty recitals, outreach activities, and master classes.
- Contribute to Jacobs School of Music committees and other departmental activities.
Requirements
- Extensive performing and teaching experience at the highest levels of the profession.
- Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent training required; advanced degrees preferred. Comparable professional experience will also be considered.
