Tenured or tenure-track position in the Percussion Department at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University Bloomington.
Position Summary
The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a position in general/orchestral percussion/timpani. Applicants with additional skills in drum set and/or world percussion are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and versatility in teaching all aspects of percussion, attract highly talented students, and prepare them for careers in a wide variety of settings.
- Studio instruction for undergraduate and graduate percussion students
- Chamber music coaching
- Orchestral repertoire class (percussion/timpani) may also be a component of this role
- Participation in school-wide committees, departmental hearings, auditions, recruitment, master classes, and other activities
Requirements
- Established national/international reputation as a performer and teacher, with the ability to attract highly talented students
- Significant experience in general/orchestral percussion/timpani performance
- Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. Comparable professional experience will be given equal consideration.

- Video recordings:
- One 20-minute video of private teaching (one-on-one with a student)
- One 15-minute video of chamber music coaching
- One 20-minute video performance of your choice (solo works, orchestral excerpts, chamber music, or orchestral playing)
