Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Chemical & Biological Engineering (RISE-EARTH)

About the role

The Wisconsin Research, Innovation, and Scholarly Excellence (RISE) Initiative aims to address significant, complex challenges of importance to Wisconsin and the world through accelerated and strategic faculty hiring, research infrastructure enhancement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and increased student and educational opportunities. The RISE-EARTH program focuses on environmental adaptation, resilience, technology, and humanity, enhancing the university's capacity to tackle these issues.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to curriculum updates and innovations.
• Mentor graduate students and supervise their research.
• Develop and direct a well-recognized and extramurally funded research program.
• Participate in departmental and university faculty governance.
• Contribute to professional and public service.
• Engage in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering or a related field.
• An excellent academic record.
• A vision for an innovative, significant, and impactful research program.
• The skills to implement the research program.
• A commitment to high-quality undergraduate and graduate instruction and mentoring.
• Experience and scholarly credentials meeting the tenure standards of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee and the College of Engineering for Associate and Full professor positions.
