Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Chemical & Biological Engineering (RISE-THRIVE)

Job Summary

The Wisconsin Research, Innovation, and Scholarly Excellence (RISE) Initiative is designed to help address significant, complex challenges of particular importance to Wisconsin and the world, through accelerated and strategic faculty hiring, research infrastructure enhancement, interdisciplinary collaboration and increased student and educational opportunities. RISE-THRIVE, which stands for Transforming Healthspan through Research, InnoVation, and Education, is set to harness and grow the University's reputation as a global powerhouse in interdisciplinary health research -- translating both medical discoveries and innovative social science approaches into tangibly healthier lives for Wisconsinites and people and communities around the world.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to curriculum updates and innovations to educate a diverse student body
• Mentoring graduate students and supervising their research
• Developing and directing a well-recognized and extramurally funded research program
• Participating in departmental and university faculty governance
• Contributing to professional and public service
• Participating in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges

Requirements

• A distinguished academic record and exceptional potential for creative research that applies chemical and biological engineering methodologies to advance medical frontiers
• Experience and scholarly credentials that meet the tenure standards of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee and the College of Engineering for Associate and Full professor candidates
• A PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering or related field required
