Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X, In-Residence, Adjunct) Rhinology
The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and seeks otolaryngologists specializing in rhinology to join its faculty. The selected candidates will contribute to the tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and education.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient care in rhinology and related areas.
- Contribute to the department’s scholarly and research mission.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students.
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree.
- Board eligible or board certified in otolaryngology.
- Eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit.
- Completion of a rhinology/skull base surgery fellowship by the start date of the appointment.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Clinical experience in endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery.
- Preferred: Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary skull base or allergy care.
- Preferred: Record of research in chronic rhinosinusitis, allergy, or skull base pathology, demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications or other scholarly contributions.
Appointment Details
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be determined based on the candidate’s background and experience. Available series include:
- HS Clinical Professor (APM 278)
- Clinical X Professor (APM 275)
- In-Residence Professor (APM 270)
- Adjunct Professor (APM 280)
Some appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. If appointed to a title covered by the Health Sciences Compensation Plan (APM-671), limitations on outside professional activities apply, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $235,000 - $675,000, based on UC Salary scales and determined by appointment type, rank, and/or step. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
