About the role

The Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego seeks outstanding applicants for non-tenured/non-tenure track General, Geriatric, Child & Adolescent, and Subspecialty Psychiatry faculty positions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional clinical care, cutting-edge research, and educational excellence.
  • Align clinical focus with one or more areas of clinical expertise in the department, including but not limited to Board specialization in general adult, geriatrics, child and adolescent, consult-liaison, and addiction psychiatry.
  • Teach in various educational programs, including lecturing and mentoring.
  • Earn recognition for clinical scholarship within the Department and/or research.

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent in neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • Candidates with an MD, DO, or equivalent must be board eligible or board certified in General Adult, Geriatric, Child and Adolescent, Consult-Liaison, or Addiction Psychiatry.
  • Candidates with an MD, DO, or equivalent must have, or be eligible for, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board, and must maintain or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number to practice in the U.S.
  • Candidates with a PsyD, PhD, or equivalent must have graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program, which includes completion of an APA-accredited internship, and must have or be eligible for a license from the California Board of Psychology.
