Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery – Adult Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Surgical Director of Complex Coronary Revascularization

About the role

The Department of Surgery, University of California, San Francisco, seeks an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery – Adult Cardiothoracic Surgeon, who will serve as the Surgical Director of Complex Coronary Revascularization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team to expand and develop a world-class program in the advanced management of complex coronary diseases.
• Deliver state-of-the-art, high-quality, patient-centered care for high-risk coronary revascularization.
• Develop a robust, data-driven program of quality assurance and enhancement that adheres to regulatory and safety standards.
• Increase volumes through outreach and marketing collaboration.
• Expand the UCSF’s coronary surgery program to become a regional center of excellence.
• Promote the development and application of cutting-edge technology, including robotics, and integrate emerging technologies into clinical practice.
• Collaborate with other departments and hospital leadership to enhance integrated care for patients and direct strategic planning to identify resource needs and plan investments for the complex coronary program growth and success.

Requirements

• Board certified/board eligible or completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the time of hire.
• Experience in advanced techniques in coronary surgery.
• Additional experience or willingness to adopt minimally invasive CABG surgery is strongly preferred.

Benefits

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 - $393,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
