Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (Open Rank) ⟩

About the role

The USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy seeks to hire tenure-eligible faculty members at the rank of Full Professor or Associate Professor. The division is part of the University of Southern California and offers a dynamic, diverse, and internationally recognized academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the division's ongoing research programs, which are funded externally and networked with clinical, social, and academic programs in the Los Angeles area.
• Lead innovative research teams and produce impactful findings on critical health or societal issues.
• Mentor students at various levels, including predoctoral, doctoral, and postdoctoral stages.
• Develop and maintain a robust grant portfolio and disseminate research findings effectively.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to advance interdisciplinary scholarship and impact.

Requirements

• A research doctoral degree or equivalent (e.g., PhD, ScD) in an area applicable to occupational science or occupational therapy.
• A strong track-record of funded research and scholarship.
• A commitment to excellence in predoctoral, doctoral, and postdoctoral education.
• Expertise in areas such as aging and Alzheimer’s, health services research, mental health, spinal cord injury, neurorehabilitation, clinical intervention research, occupational science, health equity/social justice, and disability studies.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to mentor students and junior faculty.
• Experience in securing external funding through competitive grant proposals.
• Strong record of collaborative and team science.
• Effective communication and dissemination of research findings.

Skills

• Ability to conduct independent research and contribute to the field of occupational science or occupational therapy.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 (12-month equivalent).
