Assistant, Associate, Full Professor - Neuromuscular Neurologist (CHS)

Job Summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a neuromuscular neurologist to join our growing team. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Clinical activities include outpatient and inpatient service at UW Hospital and Clinics, VA Hospital and/or other affiliated locations as needed.
• Weekly clinical activities will generally include outpatient neuromuscular clinics, EMG clinics and muscle/nerve biopsy activities.
• Outpatient activities may include general neurology clinics and residency continuity clinic, depending upon department needs.
• If candidates choose to pursue research, efforts could include independent research or collaboration with other established researchers; including not limited to bench science, clinical trials, community-based programs, community health intervention studies, etc.
• Teach medical students, resident, and fellows.
• Teaching efforts would include participation or development of a unique or exceptional teaching program in a clinical or classroom setting, including but not limited to lectures, seminars, one-on-one clinical setting, program or course director, etc.
• For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.

Required Qualifications

• Must have completed a neurology residency program.
• Neuromuscular fellowship or equivalent experience required.
• Training in muscle/nerve pathology desirable.
• Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
• Must have a WI medical license by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.

Compensation

Compensation: Negotiable, Annual (12 months)
