Assistant, Associate, Full Professor - Neuro-Oncologist (CHS)

Job Summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a neuro-oncologist interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our expanding neuro-oncology program at UW Hospital and Clinics and affiliated locations.

Key Job Responsibilities

• If candidates chose to pursue research, efforts could include independent research or collaboration with other established researchers; including not limited to bench science, clinical trials, community-based programs, community health intervention studies, etc.
• In the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track, faculty contribute to the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) missions through a scholarly approach. Faculty are expected to promote based on two or more areas: research, teaching, clinical or public health practice, or institutional leadership.
• Teach medical students, resident, and fellows.
• Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinics, which may include general neurology continuity clinics, and inpatient attending at UW Health Hospitals and Clinics and/or affiliated locations, while proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participation.
• Participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health.
• Teaching efforts would include participation or development of a unique or exceptional teaching program in a clinical or classroom setting, including but not limited to lectures, seminars, one-on-one clinical setting, program or course director, etc. Additional teaching responsibilities would include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of the candidate's clinical practice.

Required Qualifications

• Must have completed a neurology residency program.
• Neuro-oncology fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
• Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
• Must have a WI medical license by the start date.
• Clinical and research interest in primary and metastatic CNS tumors required.

Preferred Qualifications

• For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.

The Department of Neurology has over 65 faculty and 25 advanced practice providers located at 20 S. Park/Meriter Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospitals and UW Health Clinics. This is a diverse group of generalists and specialists that provides primary, secondary, and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care. Negotiable, Annual (12 months)
