Maintaining a strong sponsored research program
The candidate is expected to actively pursue and manage externally funded research projects (grants, contracts, etc.) and ensure continuous productivity in research activities.
Supervising graduate students
The individual will oversee the work of graduate students, providing mentorship, guidance on research, and potentially serving as their thesis/dissertation advisor.
Collaborating with other faculty in and outside the department
Collaboration is encouraged both within the department and across disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary research and initiatives.
Involvement in service to the university and the profession
This includes participating in committees, reviewing academic papers, organizing conferences, and contributing to the academic community within the university and in the broader field.
Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
- Outstanding record of research accomplishments
- A strong interest in graduate education
- A commitment to professional service
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a related biomedical field
